Qarib is a calm prayer-times companion for Android and iOS. There are no accounts and no sign-in — everything lives on your device.
Questions, problems, or feedback — email ayaz@gumbustudios.com and we’ll get back to you. Telling us your device model and OS version helps us help you faster.
Prayer times depend on your location and on the calculation method used by your local community. In Settings:
Settings → Location → City. You can use your device location or type a city name. Prayer times, qibla, notifications and widgets all update straight away.
The purchase is tied to your store account, not to the app’s data — so after a reinstall or on a new phone, open Settings → Remove ads → Restore Purchases. Your purchase will be restored at no charge. If it doesn’t restore, email us with the store account you purchased with.
Because Qarib keeps everything on your device and never uploads it, you move your data yourself:
Keep the file private — it contains your settings and your Kids PIN. Your “Remove Ads” purchase is not in the backup; use Restore Purchases for that.
Hold the phone flat and away from metal, magnets, cases with magnets, and speakers, then move it in a figure-eight to recalibrate the compass. Qarib uses your device’s compass sensor; if the device has no compass, the app still shows the qibla bearing and distance.
The PIN is stored only on your device — we have no way to look it up or reset it for you. If you’re locked out, reinstalling the app clears it, but that also clears your data unless you have a backup file saved.
Yes. Prayer times, qibla and the daily surah are all calculated and stored on your device. An internet connection is only used to look up a city name you type, and to load the banner ad.
Qarib has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your location and your prayer log never leave your device. Read the full Privacy Policy.
May it help you draw near.
